• Is the UK suitable for Solar Energy?

Yes – The latest technology installed by Solar Fusion has been designed specifically for the northern hemisphere and European climate. These do not need direct sunlight to produce energy as they work on irradiated light (natural daylight). So even on a cloudy day our hot water panels will still produce hot water.

• How much does hot water contribute towards my energy bill?

People significantly underestimate the amount of hot water they use. Baths, showers, washing up and all hot water drawn from a tap and hot-fill washing machines and dishwashers can contribute up to 70% of your overall energy bills.

The average UK home retains heat far more effectively than in the past due to advancements in double glazing and insulation and are prime examples why UK homeowners use less oil or gas to heat their homes. It is only during the winter months that central heating contributes to your energy bills

• Is Solar Fusion’s Thermal Hot Water System user friendly?

Our Solar Systems are installed and managed by an electronic solar controller which automatically monitors the temperature of the water cylinder and of the panels on the roof. It will automatically turn the solar system on or off to maximise energy produced and investment returns.

• Will they work in winter?

Our solar panels will produce energy even if the outside temperature is as low as -20 degrees centigrade. Therefore they will help you produce energy all year round regardless of the weather

• I have a Combi Boiler, can I still have a Thermal Solar Hot Water System?

Yes you can, however a Thermal Hot Water System does require water storage, we would identify a suitable location for a new cylinder which could go in an airing cupboard or loft area. A bypass valve would also be fitted which means that when up to temperature, you boiler wouldn’t even need to switch on.

• Are Solar Panels noticeable on the roof?

The latest technology we offer incorporates the reflector inside the vacuumed tubes which maximise performance whilst minimise space required. Typically, our system is of a similar size to a velux window.

• Can Solar Panels be mounted on a flat roof?

Yes – we use a specially constructed “A-Frame” which the panel is mounted on which allows the panel to be optimally positioned. These are typically used if you do not have a suitable facing aspect of your roof.

• Is the Electric stored on the property?

Our photovoltaic (PV) systems are connected directly into the National Grid, thus any electricity it produces that is not immediately used by yourself is sold back to your energy company. So you become your own power station!

• How much roof space is required?

Solar Fusion’s standard installation will require a roof space of approximately 15m2. We can install smaller or larger systems, it all depends on how much space you have and how much money you want to invest!

• Which area in the UK does Solar Fusion cover?

We cover the whole of the UK and are based in Dorset. We can install systems from Kent to Cornwall and Wiltshire to the Wirral.
